In a post Dark Souls world, there is a fine line between a challenging game and a frustrating game. The former succeeds in making the player feel as though their failures are a direct result of their own mistakes. The game gives you just enough of a sniff or taste of the carrot to make you feel as though you were just that close to overcoming an obstacle to entice you into one last try. The latter corners you into a feeling that the game is just not giving enough to make the drive forward appealing.

Pikuniku - Preview (PAX East 2018)
Pikuniku is a delightful minimalistic platformer from developer Sectordub and published by Devolver Digital. In Pikuniku, you play as a little red character that is simply a little red oval with eyes and legs. The world is filled with other cute nonsensical beings who need your help. Despite its bright and colorful aesthetic, something sinister is afoot, with ominous security cameras peaking behind buildings. The mystery of the big brother like town is somehow perfectly contrasted with the minimal cartoony style and has me very curious.
Due Process - Preview (PAX East 2018)
One of the games that we had the chance to check out was the previously unannounced tactical shooter from Annapurna Interactive called Due Process. Cut from the same cloth as Rainbow Six Siege, Due Process will have you and your squad planning out how to attack or defend an area and then, for better or worse, executing said plan.
