GRIS Is Beauty In Ambiguity - Review (PC)
In the debate over whether or not video games should be considered art, GRIS is the type of game that should be at the forefront of the argument. Developer Nomada Studio have crafted a title that emulates art in ways that we haven't seen before. It goes much deeper than the beautiful hand-drawn and watercolor graphical style. This is a game where things like the meaning, story details, setting, and more are up for interpretation to the player - much like an obscure painting hanging on a wall. What GRIS demonstrates is that there is beauty in ambiguity, and solace in solitude.
Great Expansions: Bethesda Edition
Can you hear the Geiger counter going "tick-tick-tickety?" Cause there is a ton of fallout from the recent launch of Fallout 76. The online-only survival title has generated controversy over the basic concept, the lack of NPC interactions, stability issues, game-play balance, and end-game viability. Add to that the recent scandal over a collector's edition bag, and Bethesda is in a bad way with its fans.
Head Down Arca's Path VR - Review (PSVR)
Arca’s Path VR felt familiar in a comforting way, yet new all at the same time. Remember the game Labyrinth? No, it wasn’t a video game. Labyrinth was a little wooden box filled with a maze controlled by levers on both sides. You would drop a marble or ball bearing into the one end and have to tilt the maze in order to land the ball safely on the other side. The trick was this – the board was full of holes, quite literally. You had to keep the ball from falling into the holes in order to reach the finish line. Arca’s Path feels just like that – only now it’s been updated for the 21st Century.

The Dualshock 4 Needs to Die
Despite the amazing software we've been treated to, and the versatile hardware offerings that Sony has given us, there is one aspect of the Playstation 4 that I can't wait to see gone. And that is the DualShock 4.

Marvel's Spider-Man, The City That Never Sleeps: Turf Wars - Review
Insomniac Games delivered a brand new episode of DLC just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The second entry in The City That Never Sleeps DLC is called Turf Wars, and features one of Marvel's most iconic mobsters, Hammerhead. This new episode only takes a few hours to complete, but it's of a good quality and is the perfect way to spend some extra free time.
Darksiders 3 Falls From Grace - Review (XB1)
Darksiders is back. This time with a new studio comprised of many of the same people that worked on the previous two titles. There was a moment that many thought this game would never exist and, after all this time, there was quite a bit of expectation put on the game that would be hard for anyone to live up to. So the question remains - does the game exceed or at least meet the expectations? Let's find out.

Platted That! - Assassins Creed: Odyssey
Malaka...Assassin's Creed Odyssey really surprised the Handsome Phantom crew. Many of us were willing to write this game off, especially in a year with so many amazing titles coming out. Against all odds, Odyssey delivers a stellar RPG that is epic in every sense of the word. The Platinum Trophy requires a significant time investment, but the stories along the way are well written, and fun as heck.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Isn't Slow... It's Something Else
At the time of this writing, I’m approximately 38% of the way through the main story of Red Dead Redemption 2. While I’m not exactly tracking hours, I’d say I’ve put in somewhere between twenty and 30 hours of gameplay. At times I’ve felt like I needed to rush through the main story missions, identified by the yellow bubbles on the map. Other times I’ve felt like I didn’t care at all about the main story and preferred to just do some hunting, play poker for an inordinate amount of time only to lose all my money, or collect a few bounties. No matter what I want to do, the pace is exactly the same - slow.
